F.I.S.H. (Friends Into Spooner Hatchery) are holding a Hatchery Harvest Open House on Friday September 25th from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The public is invited to watch the harvest at the Tommy G. Thompson Hatchery in Spooner. The event is at the Hatchery Visitor Center, 951 West Maple Street, Spooner, Wisconsin. Located 1/2 mile west of McDonald's / Kwik Trip on Highway 70.
Walleye that have been raised from eggs since spring will be removed from the ponds by the hatchery's automated fish loader to be stocked in Wisconsin waters helping to guarantee a healthy fishery now and in the future. Hatchery tours will be conducted in the morning and DNR specialists will be on hand to answer questions about fish, wildlife, water quality, law enforcement, and other environmental topics.

The hatchery has 46 rearing ponds for musky and walleye and is the world's largest producer of musky and produces thousands of musky and walleye each year. The fish harvest is free to attend and the friends group is providing free coffee.
